Nike SB "Crown Royal" Dunk

by Steph McGilvra on May 29, 2012

Our shipment of the "Crown Royal" Nike SB Dunk Low Premium in Quasar Purple/Metallic Gold-White has arrived a couple of days early. This shoe takes it's inspiration from the colors and feel of the bags that cover bottles of Crown Royal. The Texture of the toe, heel and lace panels is softer and more plush than the side panel and top of the toe box. The swoosh and heel tab are full grain leather with a crackle finish.

Poler Stuff

by Steph McGilvra on May 22, 2012

We are proud to have just picked up Poler Stuff as a new brand. This is a new category for us, and something that we feel fits nicely into our current product offering. All of us have wished for something as innovative and practical as the Napsack when camping, couch surfing or just hanging out. And now we have it. Ever wished for a simple but durable Backpack with practical updates? Look no further

Here's what Poler has to say about themselves:

"POLER CAMPING STUFF makes sleeping bags, tents, bags, and accessories that are simple, good looking, well designed gear for people that are travelers, couch surfers, regular surfers, skateboarders, snowboarders, bicyclists, parents, kids, car campers and anyone else looking for something that looks good, is a good value and is all about having fun on road trips and in the outdoors. It’s stuff that is made for people that have adventures all over the world while wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers. It’s for people that wonder why everyone is trying to pretend they are going to do first ascents on alpine peaks instead of celebrating the fact that they are having adventures that are awesome in their own way."

Poler makes a bunch of stuff for all kinds of camping and adventuring needs. If we don't have the item you are looking for, don't hesitate to ask us to get it for you. Our inventory of their goods may be small to start but it will increase as we grow the brand. We are extremely happy to support this brand, not just because it fills a category that hasn't been addressed within our industry, but also because Poler is a local company. It was started by people that live, work and play in the Portland area. We love that kind of thing!

Nike SB Early June releases

by Steph McGilvra on May 18, 2012

The shoe releases just don't stop this month. Already, we have 2 of our June shoes, and we aren't even to the 20th of May.

First up we have the Dunk Low Pro J-Pack in Black/Clear Jade-White.

Second we have the Eric Koston in White/Swan-Light Brown-Black. This color was intended to call back to the first Koston pro-model he had while riding for `eS. It's white leather that is treated in a way that as you skate it, it will wear to suede.

These shoes are great, but it's not even all of the shoes we have ordered for June. Stay tuned for our announcement of the arrival of the Crown Royal Dunks in a few days!

Entourage Dunk Wrap Up

by Steph McGilvra on May 18, 2012

With our Quick Strike shipment being delayed longer than usual, and the demand for this release being so strong, we decided to release the shoes the day we received them. Campers had already been sitting outside for more than 24 hours before the delivery driver brought them in. Releases on a tuesday seem a little off, but we try to give the people what they want.

Here are a few familiar faces and dedicated campers patiently waiting for us to open, and for the delivery driver to arrive. It was a bonus that our weather had been so mild, so the campers weren't too cold over night. Once the dunks arrived we wasted no time getting them processed and ready to go.

Looking at the shipment, these were much more consistent in quality and finish than the Space Jams were. People that waited for them were well rewarded with great looking shoes. And of course, they went very fast. We want to thank everyone what came out for the launch. You guys helped make our day fun and a success. We greatly appreciate it.

May Nike SBs have arrived a bit early

by Steph McGilvra on April 28, 2012

Our assortment of Nike SB shoes and clothing for may arrived a few days early. We have shirts from artist Frank Kozik, some sweatshirts and some Dri-Fit T's and a jacket that is a great weight for spring days in Oregon. Our shoes include the Dunk Low Premium in Cool Grey/White Wolf-University Blue. This is a collaboration between Premier and Nike. It's called the Petoskey, and it's inspired by the western shores of Lake Michigan. The embossed pattern is meant to represent the pattern on the Petoskey stone that can be found in the region on the shores of the Lake. The translucent blue outsole represents the water and the Grey represents the clouds in the sky over the lake. The insoles have images of the Petoskey stones in the waters of Lake Michigan. All in all this is a very well done shoe. It looks clean, and still unique.

Our second Dunk is the Classic Black/White Suede color way. Nothing super fancy, but a color you can wear with just about anything.

The final shoe is a Dunk Mid Pro in Black/Iron-White. The upper is all suede but the Grey panels and swoosh have a Pebble texturing that makes it more dynamic. This is an understated shoe with some style.

All in all May looks like a great month for SB releases.

Longboard Re-Stock

by Steph McGilvra on April 20, 2012

We have been busy re-stocking longboard goods for spring. We just got the new Butterball wheels and Race Formula wheels as well as a couple of performance boards from Sector 9. We picked up some more Caliber trucks in all sizes and colors. That includes Blackout, White/Gold and Silver in 44 degree and 50 degree options. The Landyachtz re-stock came in earlier in the week, so if you have been looking for the new Wolf Shark or the Tomahawk, look no further. Orangatang wheels and Loaded decks are fully stocked and ready to roll. Basically, from this point on we will be getting constant shipments of goods. If there's something you are interested in, but don't see it on the website, there's a good chance we have it in store or we can try to get it for you.

April Nike SB

by Steph McGilvra on March 30, 2012

April's SB offering arrived a couple of days early and it's no April Fool's joke. We already have them out on the floor and ready to go. The  first shoe is the Janoski in Black/Metallic Gold-White. This is a classy looking color up with nice play between sued on the toe and heel panels with the side panel in full grain. This is a nice variance on the common Black/White color way.

Our second SB is a Blazer in Black/Sea Crystal-Varsity Red. This is the first Blazer to come out in a while that has a heel color that contrasts with the rest of the shoe. The swoosh color gives a really nice pop, and the alternate lace matches the swoosh very well. In our opinion, this is the Best non-premium Blazer in a very long time.

Last weeks Snow Dump

by Steph McGilvra on March 26, 2012

With the recent happenings on Mt. Hood, and the riding that Ryan did, I thought it would be a great opportunity to turn over the blog to him, so he could relay some of the great times he had last week. He writes:

"Well if you were alive and had a pulse last week you might know that Mt. Hood was pounded by HEAVY, HEAVY amounts of great spring snow! This has been becoming a "normal" occurrence the last couple of years but still catches a lot of people by surprise. On that note, this last Thursday when most of the Portland area and surrounding valley woke up to a blanket of two to three inches of snow I decided to head to Mt. Hood and ride the three feet plus that had fallen in the last few days. For any of you lucky enough to have made it up this last week before it all was tracked out and crunchy, you know how AMAZING and FUN it was! My day started at Mt. Hood Meadows, which the day before had only operated a couple lifts and thus a lot of terrain was left untouched. So, with more lifts open and more terrain accessible, we knew we were in for a treat. This made us very, very, happy to say the least. We headed straight towards the forests and were welcomed by waist deep snow-making some cliff drops, shoots, and tree jibs ridable for the first time in several years. We were lucky enough to time the opening of Heather Canyon just right as well and dropped into wide open bowls filled with deep snow that was sucking up riders and skiers left and right.  It was amazing!

After riding from open to just about close at Meadows we stopped by Ski Bowl on the way down and took some pics, shredded some more and enjoyed a couple hours of the spring sun and great conditions that were still available lower down the Mountain. Ski Bowl was still great even at 5pm!

Truly, it has been a long time since the snow has been that great everywhere you went, and if you were lucky enough to ride during last weeks late season DUMP than this write up is not at all a surprise to you but more of what I'm sure was a great and memorable ride down memory lane. Now that Mother Nature has blessed us all with this recent snow I can only imagine what the parks and terrain features will be this Spring and well into this Summer higher up on the hill. Dreams will be filled with perfect sunny park laps, perfect spins, grabs, plants, pics, filming, and all around good times! Until then though, bring on the spring POW!"  -Ryan
