December Nike SB "Krampus" Quick Strike

by Steph McGilvra on December 03, 2012

NIke's December Quick Strike, the Dunk High Premium "Krampus" has arrived. For those who don't know who Krampus is:(From Wikipedia) Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish bad children during the Christmas season, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards nice ones with gifts. Krampus is said to capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair.

Artist Sean Cliver did the insole graphics and image on the tongue. The leather is black with a crackle finish, and the side panels feature an almost mohair material. Black flat laces are waxed like boot laces. The inside features a longer animal fleece style lining, and it's all capped off with a black midsole with red speckles and a black ice outsole. These look sharp! They have managed to capture the festive aspect of the season and give it a little bit of an edge.

There will also be some hats and pocket Ts that accompany this pack. We are hoping to have those in stock soon.

November Nike Shoes & Quick Strike

by Steph McGilvra on November 12, 2012

We have already received both our November shoe assortment from Nike as well as our Quick Strike. Up first is the second color of the Koston x Heritage to hit retail. Referencing the Air Max 90 in a solid Metallic Silver/Grey/Sunburst. Classic design meets modern skate durability and comfort with a Lunar insole. Second is a size re-stock in the Black Blazer SB. Next up is the first from a NEW line at Nike called OMS! This is a waterproof leather boot upper on a Lunar running outsole! Perfect for the wet season and those trips up to the Mountains, this boot features not only waterproof leather but also a gusseted tongue and Outlast heat-reflective lining under the insole and in the interior fabric lining! Outlast has been is Snowboard boots for years and works great to store and re-release heat to keep your feet all cozy.  Finally, we have the Quick Strike. This shoe starts as a P Rod VI, but features a Lunar foam insole and running outsole! A great crossover shoe for wearing when you are not skating. So comfortable!

Raging Bulls! Nike Dunk High Premium SB QS

by Steph McGilvra on October 17, 2012

Nike SB reaches back to the "Raging Bull" Jordan pack for the inspiration on this Dunk High Premium SB Quickstrike for October. This shoe looks like two different colors. One, a great, dark grey with blue ice outsole and red accents, and the other a 3M reflective bright silver! All it takes is a flash or the bright headlights of a car at night and the shoes take on a whole new look. This Dunk High can only become more dynamic as it is skated, as scuff marks in the upper will ad more depth when a flash or bright light is applied. For me personally this is favorite of the last several QS releases for sure!

October Nike SB Shoes

by Steph McGilvra on October 16, 2012

Today we received our October nike shipment. We're half way though the month, so it's a little frustrating but never the less, it's here. In this shipment we received a Dunk Low Pro in Challenge Red/White-University blue. These have a buttery sued with a pebbled side panel, toe panel and heel. The swoosh is pebbled white leather and it's all capped off with a ice blue outsole.

The other New shoe we received is the much anticipated Koston X Heritage in Black/Anthracite-Atomic Green. It features the same great outsole and insole as the original Koston with the upper given treatments of the original Air Max 90 on the heel, lace holes and toe box stitching.  The suede on this one is super soft and buttery. Overall it's a great marriage of the two shoes.

We also got a refresher of staple Black/White Janoskis. These do come with the original leather laces for the Jano purists out there.

Tomorrow we are looking to receive our October Quick Strike "Raging Bull High". I'll post more about that when it arrives.

Snow Gear Galore

by Steph McGilvra on October 12, 2012

We have no shortage of snow gear coming in the shop. It's been hard to keep up with it since more arrives every day. Here's are partial listing of what we have out on the floor already: Capita boards, Capita Hats and sweatshirts, Union Bindings, NOW Bindings, Electric Goggles, Holden X Stussy Outerwear, Forum Snowboards, Forum Boots, Forum Bindings, CandyGrind Gloves and Beanies, Burton AK Outerwear, Burton Boots, Burton Bindings and Airblaster Outerwear. There are several things we can't put up on our website as an individual product listing due to web-specific brand policies, but if you are interested in anything specific, let us know and we can tell you if we have it, or if we are getting it.

Next week we will have new snow videos and of course more snow hardgoods. We are also looking to get our shipment of Nike SB Shoes for our october offering as well as our Nike SB Dunk High Quick Strike.

LongboardLarry Decks

by Steph McGilvra on October 09, 2012

Today we just got some fresh decks from LongboardLarry. We love to support Larry and his products because they are hand made in Oregon, and they offer a quality product with a unique feel. This time we got a couple of old standbys and well as some custom flavor. We ordered 2 Salamanders:One in Green/Yellow Swirl and the Other in White/Blue Swirl. 2 Tiny Dancers: 1 with the standard blue color you see on Larry's website and 1 in orange-a color he hasn't previously made the Tiny Dancer in. Also in the shipment is a regular DK Penguin and a Limited edition Floral print DK Penguin. The Floral penguin we received is black instead of the blue color that Larry has on his site. Again, it's a color that's more limited in quantities so you can be a little different than your friends. Check out the Picture below to see what they look like.

Look/See Sunglasses

by Steph McGilvra on September 15, 2012

We just got our delivery of Look/See Sunglasses. In fact they were hand delivered by the company owner to us today(Saturday). That's some amazing customer service! It helps to deal with companies that are headquartered here in Portland, and that are small enough to go the extra mile. We are excited about these glasses because they are designed by someone formally in the sneaker industry with the intent of coordinating with well known and loved prints, colors and designs that are favorites of Sneaker collectors. All the frames are the same style with different color-ways. There are even some that have a reflective coating to tie into the 3M reflective material on the tongues of some Air Jordans. Look/See is the first company to apply a reflective coating on eyewear, and it works really well. All the glasses come in a small box similar to a shoe box, and are accompanied by a soft cloth bag for cleaning and storage. Look/See also does some very unique collaborations, and has exciting things coming soon. Check out the assortment of what was on this delivery, and keep checking back for new releases.

by Steph McGilvra on September 14, 2012

Just a quick update and reminder on the Quick Strike Nike x Levi's Dunk Low Premium release. We will start selling raffle tickets at 10am Saturday September 14th(tomorrow) outside the store. We will have the following rules regarding the raffle:

A maximum of 2 raffle tickets can be purchased per person. RAFFLE TICKETS WILL SELL FOR $3.00 A PIECE!(CASH) Each customer will write the size they would like on their ticket(s) that will be placed in a hat by size. Meaning everyone that wants a size 10 will be competing against only people wanting that size and so on.  All tickets will be picked at random. In the unlikely event that there are any left over sizes available, individuals whose ticket numbers were not called will be have their tickets placed in the hat and we will draw at random until all shoes have been sold. ONE pair of shoes can be purchased per person! ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE COST OF THE RAFFLE TICKETS WILL BE DONATED TO THE WEST PORTLAND SKATE PROJECT, A LOCAL NON-PROFIT INDOOR SKATE PARK.

Originally, we had announced we will only allow one ticket to be purchased per person, but we have decided to up that amount to two. It's not a big change, but we are making it because we would like to be able to raise more money for the W.P.S.P. So, please make sure you bring up to 6 bucks in cash to get the ticket(s). We are planning to hand whatever money is raised from the tickets sales directly to the W.P.S.P. so that is why we are asking for cash.

The shoes themselves will be $160/pair, and of course for those we can take other forms of payment for those.

We hope to see a lot of you here tomorrow to help us support the W.P.S.P. and launch a great collaboration shoe.
