"Portland Dunk" Release info+more
by Steph McGilvra on October 09, 2013
Nike has set a hard release date of Saturday October 12th for this shoe. That means that retailers are supposed to release it on that day. We have received only a partial shipment of this shoe, so it makes it difficult to do a release and make people happy. As of right now we only have a 9, two 10.5s and a 13. Generally we would want to hold the few shoes we do have in order to release them all together, but the remainder of our order has yet to be shipped and as of today, Nike can not tell me when it will actually happen. Given what I know about what is happening with Nike's shipping issues right now, it seems like the best plan is to just go ahead and release what we have and then release the other pairs later whenever they show up. Therefore: if you are a 9, a 10.5 or 13, this coming saturday is your lucky day! We will be releasing this small amount at 11am. It will be first come, first serve. With all that being said, these things look really good. Supple black full grain leather to represent asphalt, with side panels treated in such a way as to look like there are fresh water droplets on them. The swoosh is clear, as is the outsole. The material around the collar is a brown to represent earth tones prevalent around here, and the midsole is just slightly off white. The alternate lace matches the midsole.
Cons just sent us two new shoes this week. We received a new color of the Trapasso 2. This is a Leaf Green suede with brown accents on the newest Trapasso pro model that features a Lunarlon insole, memory foam in the tongue and collar and a proven converse vulcanized outsole.
Cons also has come out with a collaboration with Santa Cruz. This is the CTS OX "Jason Jessee" colorway. This a canvas upper with grey overprint pattern. The insole is Lunarlon with a print of custom artwork on the sockliner. The tongue and collar feature memory foam and the outsole is clear with half of the Santa Cruz logo showing through on each shoe. These shoes come with 3 sets of laces in black, red and white.
This week we have been busy with getting in a lot of snow gear. Currently on the floor for 2014: All Nike Snowboard outerwear and layering, All Adidas outerwear, Anon Goggles and Helmets, Union Bindings, Capita snowboards, Stance socks, Burton Layering and socks, Burton Bindings , Nikita snowboards & Bindings, and NOW bindings. We still have a few things in boxes that we are working on unpacking including: Airblaster Outerwear and accessories, Celtek gloves and accessories and Nikita Outerwear. Stay tuned as we make more in depth posts about these products and others that have yet to arrive.
Nike SB "Portland Dunk" Quick Strike
by Steph McGilvra on September 30, 2013
Within the next week or so we are set to receive a Quick Strike Dunk Low from Nike with a theme that Oregonians can really appreciate. Nicknamed the "Portland Dunk" this shoe features black and brown colors to play off the Asphalt and Earth colors we see around town. The swoosh is clear, as is the outsole. The side panels feature a treatment that makes them appear to be splashed with rain droplets. This shoe is not only great for this time of year, but nicely plays homage to an aspect of living here in the PDX area that we are all too familiar with. We will update the blog with more detailed pics and release info once the shoes have arrived.
Nike SB Floral Janoski Release tomorrow + more
by Steph McGilvra on September 26, 2013
Tomorrow is the day for Janoskis. We will be releasing the second in the 3 part series of digital floral print Janoskis. This color features more blue and brown tones that the previous color, but still keeps the white outsole and foxing. We do have more pairs this time around than the first floral release, so we can make people with a wider range of sizes happy! That being said, quantities are still limited. The release will start when we open at 11am, and be first come, first serve. Check out the pics below.
Aside from the Quick Strike release above, we have gotten some other shoes in this week, that we are really excited about! New Balance Numeric skate shoes are finally here. They arrived about 3 months later than we expected but, we are still very please with the quality of the finished product. We have several reasons why we are excited about this company and their product; First and foremost New Balance is an American company that is privately held by one family. Its not publicly traded, and as such it means they can make decisions about the products they make based on what they feel is good for the brand, not because they are beholding to stock holders or a stock ticker. Second we like the fact that New Balance makes 30% of it's footwear in the United States. The skate footwear is not made here, but if the product does well enough, they will bring some of that production stateside. Thirdly, when we saw the samples way back in January, we were blown away by their quality. A lot of samples we see will have incorrect finishing details or just seem to be put together in a sloppy fashion compared to the finished product. The New Balance Numeric samples were dialed! The fit and feel was correct and over all the line was solid. Below are a few shots of the shoes we received yesterday.
Above is the Stratford. It features a one piece suede upper. Multiple perforations on the side panels for breathability and a cushy EVA insole.
Above is the Logan. It features a single piece synthetic upper that is made of TPU bonded PU. The synthetic material is more durable than suede and helps to make for a lighter weight shoe. The tongue is mesh and the insole is EVA for great impact cushioning.
Above is the Quincy. It's got a traditional vulcanized outsole. So it will be a little more flexible and give more board feel than the other two models, but the sole won't be quite as durable. The upper is suede and tongue is canvas.
All in all this is a line that has a little something for everyone. We are still waiting on a couple of other models to show up, and we will post pics when we get them.

Walk of Fame Dunks have arrived
by Steph McGilvra on August 26, 2013
Today, the delivery man brought us our shipment of Walk of Fame Dunks. This Quick Strike is the eagerly anticipated collaboration between Nike SB and Brooklyn Projects. Originally slated to release at least 4 months ago, after some delays, the shoes are finally been able to be released. The inspiration for the shoe comes from the historic Hollywood Walk of Fame. It features a treatment on the black leather that resembles the stone color surrounding the stars featured on the walk. The suede toe and heel and the nylon tongue are a salmon color that is reminiscent of the interior of the stars and the gold swoosh ties it all together just like the writing on each of the stars. The outsole is classic white with black tread. The alternate lace color included with each pair is salmon. We plan to release these shoes tuesday August 27th at 11am. First come first serve. One pair per person.
