Shorty’s Hardwear has slightly smaller heads that other brands to reduce weight and counter sink better. They also feature a half threaded design to make them stronger and not chew boards as much. Finally they are heat treated to increase tensile strength.
For an upgrade try Silverados. They have the same Shorty’s design with 2 silver colored bolts in the pack. The silver bolts make it easier to tell a boards’ nose from the tail.
